Neat! I'd suggest that on top of all you did here already, that you exploit the bit of random fuzz at the bottom on the left edge of the fractal flame. You see where it's sorta dotted with noise? Here's an idea... expand that area, then duplicate it to another layer, gaussian blur one layer and put it behind, then take the un-blurred copy on top and use a brush to add in more random dots until it falls into a neat pattern. Just an odd idea of mine. I like how you've cleaned it up a lot with CS2 by blackening the edges selectively and allowing some of those spikes to shoot out. Perhaps take them further? The piece definitely stands on its own render, but you should try adding a third element wherever possible... make sure that you add some lines to help the eye travel up and down your piece and contour to every feature you want the audience to see.
