OK so i FINALLY found a way to make a decent and extremely fast nebula after a little experimentation and will probably make a tutorial...
i'm quite happy with how it turned out. I don't like to spend too much time on a piece of art because its highly likely i will lose interest SO I WORK FAST FAST FAST, but thats just me..
Hah! wow! That's some awesome stuff! I think I see how you did the nebula, and it's brilliant!
That's really neato! I like the colors a ton and you did such a neat job on the planet. As well, I really like a lot of the fractal stuff interspersed.
I hope you go really far with all of this! I mean, my only little idea here is to add more depth. The eye can sorta pick out that the nebula is flat, but it's not hard to trick someone. All you do (and forgive me if this sounds like too much work) is add a top and bottom layer to it. Make the top layer with smaller details and the back layer can have much larger details (keep the lines sharp or blurred where appropriate, but just make sure that you definitely can say which part is larger or smaller in details). I'm still not sure which part should be where, but depending on the cloud and how close you want the viewer to feel, I believe if you switch those layers and let the bigger scaled nebula part sit on top then the person will feel much closer, whereas if you put the fine details on top then you'll make them feel farther away.
Of course, you can always mash the layers together in the end and goof off with trying to smudge and blend the layers into a more seamless nebula, but I hope you get the idea, right? To give something depth when it is really huge, you make some parts appear different not by blurring them, but by how detailed you make them. It's a fun thing to play with, and I believe I already gave you a comment about this, right? I don't want to preach it again. Dangit... I think it's too late D:
sorry.... if I tend to repeat myself. Just yell at me this time and I'll likely shuddap sooner next time ^_^
thanx. and the nebula i just made my own way and il be putting up the tutorial for it shortly all in photoshop. planet tutorials on deviant art. and fractal made in apophysis but this 1 is a brush
